Module Reluanch

Ed Brindleys YM/AY Soundcard, 8255 IDE adapter and DS1302 RTC were some of the most popular 3rd party modules for the RC2014, so I know a lot of people were sad to hear that Ed was unable to continue supplying them due to other work commitments.
Well, fear not, because these modules are now being sold from the main RC2014 store, with a small payment going to Ed for each one sold.
  • The AY2149 soundcard gives the power of chip-tunes to any RC2014 and is based around the classic sound chip found in the ZX Spectrum 128, MSX and other classics of the day.
  • The 8255 IDE Module lets you add a real hard drive to your RC2014.  Native support is included with RomWBW, or via C libraries in z88dk
  • The DS1302 Module is also supported natively in RomWBW, and not only gives your RC2014 the power to tell the time, but also time/date stamps files

Electromagnetic Field

EMFcamp is the biggest tech festival in the UK, and always a highlight in the RC2014 calendar. This year RC2014 will be there, not just in the vendors night market, but also running a workshop or two. Tickets sold out really quickly, but for those of you lucky enough to grab one in time, make sure you come and say hi!

Computer Building Workshop

The Centre For Computing History in Cambridge, UK is running a Build A Z80 Computer Workshop this weekend. This is a great workshop for anyone wanting some guidance on how to assemble a RC2014, and was hugely successful last time. There's only a couple of tickets left, so if you want to go along on Sunday, you'd better be quick!
Many of us are fans of the Computerphile YouTube channel, and a lot of us are CP/M fans too. So why not check out the latest Computerphile video about the history of CP/M.  Keep your eyes peeled for a RC2014 cameo ;-)
