Zed and Zed Pro

Since the release of the 512k ROM 512k RAM Module, people have been asking for a complete kit running RomWBW. Well, here it is, the RC2014 Zed and RC2014 Zed Pro.  Available with a choice of compact flash or IDE hard drive, the Zed and Zed Pro also support Ed Brindleys RTC module as well as all your favourite RC2014 modules like the Digital I/O Module and Pi Serial Terminal.
The Zed, did, of course, get it's name from the advanced CP/M software supplied on RomWBW, Z-System (pronounced Zee System)

Maker Faire Wellington

November 4th sees the first appearance of the RC2014 at the Wellington Maker Faire in New Zealand.  Make sure you call in and say Hi if you're in the area.

Bus Raider!

For some users, the lack of memory mapped graphics on the RC2014 is an issue.  Rob Dobson saw this as a challenge though, and expanded on the Pi Serial Terminal idea with the Bus Raider Module. Not only does this give bitmapped graphics, but allows ZX Spectrum and TRS80 ROMs to run original software!

RC2014 Meetup Cambridge

The Bristol meetup last month was great, so this month I'm coming to Cambridge. The Barron of Beef pub has some great history with the Z80, so come along and enjoy the geeky goodness. Please sign up for your free ticket on Eventbrite

New Zealand and Australia Meetups

Despite being the 2nd biggest selling hemisphere for RC2014, the Southern Hemisphere has missed out on RC2014 meetups. Well, that's about to change! If you're in Wellington, Auckland, Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney, then there's a RC2014 meetup near you in November!
If you didn't receive an email about this a few days ago and want to be kept up to date, please let me know and I'll add you to the list.
Details will be sent out in due course, but if you can suggest a venue, please get in touch

Festival and Fest

September was a busy month for getting out and about. The Retro Computer Festival was amazing with some great old relics and friendly faces.
Last weekend was a last minute trip to National Hamfest, which was a new experience for RC2014
A big welcome to all the new subscribers I picked up from these events!
