You are receiving this email because you signed up to the RC2014 Community Newsletter or have bought an RC2014 homebrew computer, and I think you'll enjoy reading this - However, I fully understand that nobody likes spam.  Although I don't expect to send these more than once a month, if you do chose to click the unsubscribe link at the bottom, Mailchimp will honour it.
Firstly, sorry that this newsletter is somewhat later than I'd expected.  In my defense, though, featuring on the front page of Hackaday earlier this month did add to my workload somewhat!  I'm not complaining though, and it's good that there's now a lot more RC2014 owners out there because of it.

If you haven't seen it already, you can read the full review here

EMF Camp

Another place where RC2014 became popular was EMF Camp last month.  In addition to all the other amazing stuff going on, I got to meet several existing RC2014 owners as well as some of the Tindie team.  There was lots of great feedback and interesting conversations.

New Modules. New Options. New Possibilities!

Since the last newsletter there has been quite a few new boards introduced, such as the 24 Port Digital Input and 24 Port Digital Output Modules and a new 5 Slot Backplane that can either be used on it's own or to extend the 8 Slot Backplane.  This opens up lots of possibilities for the RC2014.  What do you plan on doing with your one?

If you haven't been back to Tindie since you bought your RC2014, here's a good excuse to visit - a 5% discount if you use the voucher code NEWSLETTER5 before the end of October

64K RAM Module

One of the more exciting, and much asked for modules is the new 64k RAM Module.  The lower 32k can be toggled on or off, allowing it to coexist with ROM, or take up the memory left over from a 4k, 8k or 16k ROM

To blatantly misquote Bill Gates "64k should be enough for anyone!"

Retro Challenge 2016/10

The RC2014 started life as en entry in the Retro Challenge.  Well, the Retro Challenge is back this October.  I have entered as usual, and this time continuing the challenge of making a ZX81 module for the RC2014 - which I ran out of time for last time around.
In a great "Inception" like twist, Scott is also in the challenge, and basing his around the RC2014!  Good luck Scott!  And good luck to everyone else too.  There's always an amazing amount of interesting stuff going on by some very tallented people
There's still time to enter if you get yourself over to http://retrochallenge.net/

Gaming News

The Joystick Module was introduced last month and has proved very popular. I think Filippos conversion of the classic Snake game has helped a lot with that!  You can find Snake in our GitHub repo along with a hexloader to load it in

Derby Mini Maker Faire

The 5th Derby Mini Maker Fair is on the 22nd October and promises to have some amazing things - Including a RC2014 stall!  There'll might even be a new RC2014 product launch there too. Shhhh ;-)

So, if you're within striking distance of the East Midlands, UK, then swing by and say Hi
