That time of the year again!

A very Happy New Year to all of you.  Or, for those of you that are fond of your retro computers, have a Happy Old Year!  If you have got some Christmas Money left over and you don't know what to spend it on, well, maybe there's a January Sale going on with some retro computer bargains for you to pick up!

The Christmas break was pretty hectic here, and wasn't much of a break at all - so a quick heads-up to let you know I'll be away for the last week of January, which coincides with the annual shutdown in Chinese for the New Year. Internet access will be sporadic for me, so apologies in advance for a slow response.

There are some exciting plans ahead for the RC2014 in 2020.  I'd was going to put a bad photo in the header of this as a teaser, but, well, it turns out to be impossible to take a bad photo of one of the upcoming projects! I'm sure we'll see more of that in the next news letter though ;-)

USB CDC Adaptors

From next week, these super cute 5v Serial to USB adaptors from 8086 Consultancy will be available as an optional extra on most RC2014 models. This is a great alternative to the standard FTDI cable at a fraction of the size and cost. If you already have an RC2014 and just want the USB adapter on its own, you can pick one up direct from USB CDC Serial Adaptor listing on Tindie

Biggest Black Friday Ever

A huge thank you to everybody that took advantage of the Black Friday Cyber Monday sales. This is always a busy time at RC2014 Towers, but 2019 was the biggest ever!

TMS9995 at London Meetup

On January 14th at the London Retro Computing Meetup, Chris Swan will be giving a talk about his adventures with a TMS9995 and getting it to play fair with his RC2014. It is free to attend, but you need to register

January Sale

As hinted to above, the January Sale is currently underway.  All 6 RC2014 kits (The Micro, Mini, Classic, Plus, Pro and Zed) are all available with 10% off on Tindie until January 7th.  No discount code needed!
And finally... we saw in the Winter Solstice in style here at RC2014 Towers with a recreation of Silicon Henge, using Z80 chips, just as the ancient Druids would have done back in the day!
