LED Bubble Display For RC2014

One of the big appeals of vintage tech is the aesthetics, and without a doubt, one of the things that screams 1970s early LED technology is the 7 segment LED bubble display from HP. You can now add a pair of these gorgeous reclaimed displays to your RC2014 with the new 7 Segment Bubble LED Display Module
There were also a few displays that didn't quite make the cut for inclusion with the module kits, so these B-Grade displays are available separately for those that want to play about with something cool.

RIP Kim le Broque

In the last newsletter I mentioned that Kim le Broque was seriously ill in hospital. Unfortunately Kim didn't make it and passed away last week.

Since getting his first RC2014 in 2016 Kim has always been an enthusiastic member of the RC2014 community, and founded the RC2014 Users Group on Facebook. Many of you might also know Kim from the Google Group or as @ZXKim81 on Twitter

I know that Kim will be missed amongst the retro computing community in general, and our thoughts are with his wife and family at this terrible time.

New Stickers!

Three new sticker designs are now in stock. A random one
will go out with all orders while stocks last. How many of you are close to getting the full set?

Hosting a BBS on a RC2014

People have been accessing BBS on their RC2014 for a while, but I think Wintermute is the first to host a BBS on a real RC2014!

Address: http://rc2014.ddns.net - Port: 2014

It's single user so if you get disconnected immediately, someone else is already logged in.
Designing circuits is one thing, but designing custom silicon, well that's in a whole different league. So when Matthew Venn reached out to me and offered me a place on the Zero to ASIC course, I couldn't say no!
Over the next few months you can follow my progress on the Zero to ASIC YouTube channel, or on the RC2014 Blog as I go deep down in to how semiconductors really work, and hopefully end up with a piece of silicon that solves a very niche RC2014 issue.
