Emulated YM2149 / AY-3-8910 Sounds Great

Keeping up with a new module every month, the Why Em-Ulator Sound Module has just launched. This emulated YM2149 sound card means that you don't have to take your chances with used chips on eBay and still get that vintage chip tune experience. And if you don't like to see modern SMD components on your RC2014, we've got you covered. Literally. With an optional DIP40 socket.
The addressing has been simplified so this works with existing RC2014 demos and the PLAYER.COM program as well as easily switchable for MSX ports and TMS9918A compatibility.

EMF Camp!


Wow, has it really been 2 years since the last one! EMF Camp is a bi-annual highlight in the RC2014 calendar, and this year is looking to be fantastic Add May 30th to June 2nd to your calendar. RC2014 will be there as usual. Hopefully there will be an RC2014 workshop, a market stall and maybe even a talk. Watch this space...
Live streaming RC2014 assembly videos seem popular right now. This one from Les Orchard has some great chip tunes going on too as he discovers a typo on the silkscreen of one of the modules from last years Zed Pro Pride kits. Ooops!

Jig-tastic

In order to program and test the Why Em-Ulator Sound Modules, a custom jig had to be built. This bed-of-nails jig is controlled by an RC2014 Micro running some custom code. You can read more about it on the RC2014 website

In The Dark RC2014

“In The Dark” is a rogue-like game by Kyan Ryan that sees you playing as an explorer of caves. Find the treasures in each level, and move on to the next. But the more you move, the more your light diminishes, and Grue lurk in the cave with you. The Grue don’t like the light, but they love the dark and they also love the taste of your bones.
