RC2014 Powered Birthday Cake

How do you wish the designer of the RC2014 kits a happy birthday? By making a cake that runs from an RC2014 of course! Yes, you read that right, this IMSAI 8080 themed cake made by Shiela Dixon has embedded NeoPixel LEDs that are controlled from an RC2014. It has different lighting patterns and even a Kill The Bit game! After a few bytes, I can confirm that it is a delicious cake too! Read about it on Shielas blog here

Retro Computer Festival 2024

RCF is back again at the Center For Computing History in Cambridge. This is always an amazing event and this year is looking to be extra special. There will, of course, be an RC2014 exhibit, along with some kits to buy and even sneaky peeks at upcoming projects.

3D Printed Port Covers

If you have a Rear Panel for the Blue Box enclosure, did you know that you can print your own port covers? Either use the Thingiverse Configurator or download the OpenSCAD file from GitHub
Following on from his series on building the RC2014 Classic II, Stuart Patterson is now upgrading the kit to run CP/M. This video covers the software installation

Retro Challenge 2024/10

As the month draws to an end people are beginning to wrap up their Retro Challenge projects. Once again there has been some fantastic projects, and I have enjoyed reading about what everyone else has been up to just as much as working on my own one. I still need to write my last update on the ZX81 Module I have been working on since 2016.  Does it work... find out in a couple of days!
