You are receiving this email because you signed up to the RC2014 Community Newsletter or have bought an RC2014 homebrew computer, and I think you'll enjoy reading this - However, I fully understand that nobody likes spam.  Although I don't expect to send these more than once a month, if you do chose to click the unsubscribe link at the bottom, Mailchimp will honour it.

Got wood?

All the best computers come in wooden cases.  So if your RC2014 is feeling inferior sitting next to your Apple I, Horizon Northstar or Video Genie, don't worry, laser cut wooden cases are coming to a Tindie store near you very soon!  These cases protect and smarten up your backplane whilst leaving all the important parts accessible.  All the pins on the connector are labelled too!

Busy Summer

It's been a busy summer, and the RC2014 has toured all over the world.  Last month it was in the Netherlands for SHA2017.  Prior to that it went to Liverpool Make Fest, Bay Area Maker Faire in California, and Maker Faires in Newcastle and Edinburgh. It was great to meet so many RC2014 fans at those events!

Hackaday Unconference, Retro Computer Festival and more!

On 15th and 16th September, I'll be at the Hackaday Bring a Hack, and the Hackaday Unconference in London.  I'll be giving a RC2014 talk at the unconference, but would like you to suggest what specifically to talk about.
The following day I'll be at the Retro Computer Festival in the Centre For Computing History.
Then, at the end of October, I'll make the trek over to Derby for their Mini Maker Faire
So, if you're going to any of these events, make sure you say hi!

CP/M Upgrade Kit

The individual modules needed to take your Full Monty RC2014 from a BASIC to a CP/M machine have proved very popular.  To make things easier and cheaper, an upgrade kit of all the parts needed is now available!

CPU Choice

Whilst the RC2014 was designed with a Z80 in mind, that isn't your only option.  Ben Chong has made his 6502 module available, but there's also Z180 and possibly a 16 bit CPU coming on the scene soon. @Oddblk has even got BBC B graphics running on his 6502 based RC2014!

Compact Flash Stencil Available

Soldering on the compact flash connector on to the Compact Flash Module is now easier for those that use solder paste and a reflow oven.  A laser cut stencil ensures that you squeegee just the right amount of solder paste on to the PCB.  Of course, the pre-soldered option is still available if you're not ready to go down the surface mount road just yet!
1024 RC2014 Sales!
I've saved the most exciting news until last.  There are now over 1024 RC2014 out there in the wild!  Yes, that's 2^10 RC2014! or 10000000000 in binary! How cool is that!!!
So, to celebrate, you can use the discount code PARTYTIME! at the Tindie checkout for 10.24% discount any time for the next 20.14 days!
