New Additions
The RC2014 range has now been expanded with the RC2014 Plus and the RC2014 Pro
models. The Plus features 32k RAM and SIO/2 serial on an 8 slot
backplane, whilst the Pro has 64k, Pageable ROM and runs CP/M from
compact flash
Happy Family
Don't worry, the RC2014 Mini and original RC2014 (retrospectively named RC2014 Classic) won't be going away, as you can see from this happy family photo!
Hackaday Unconference, Retro Computer Festival and more!
September was a busy month with the Hackaday Bring a Hack, the Hackaday Unconference and the Retro Computer Festival all
happening at the same weekend. I think I counted at least 15
RC2014 owners that I got to meet that weekend, which was great!
The Centre for Computing History made a short video about the RC2014
whilst I was at the Retro Computer Festival, so I've included it here
for your viewing pleasure :-)
RC2014 at the Retro Computer Festival in Cambridge
If you missed out on tickets to either of the
events in September, there's a chance to see the RC2014 on tour at the Derby Mini Maker Faire on 28th October, or at the European Maker Faire in Rome at the start of December. As always, call in and say Hi if you're going to be there!
Mass Storage for RC2014
Designer Ed Brindley, the brains behind the AY Soundcard for RC2014 has done it again with this IDE Adapter that's designed for RC2014. If you're in need of extra storage options, it's certainly worth checking out!
Retro Challenge
That time of the year is upon us once again with the Retro Challenge kicking off just 6 days ago. Follow along on Twitter to see what everyone's up to.
My entry involves an RC2014 (obviously!), an ESP8266 and Zork!
RC2014 Plus and RC2014 Pro Discount
At the moment, the assembly guidelines are not yet complete for the RC2014 Plus or the RC2014 Pro.
So as motivation for me to complete it, and as compensation to you, I'm
giving an 11% discount off of either model with the code PROPLUSELEVEN which will be valid until the printed documentation is done. Can't say fairer than that :-)
