RC2014 Static Website
This is the new website for the RC2014, a Z80 based retro computer kit.

Please note that this site is currently very much a work in progress. There are pages missing, there are broken links, and there are design/layout choices that have been poorly thought through.
The original RC2014 website was a WordPress site, and had been running happily for over 10 years, even with a change of web host. WordPress runs on PHP, and can do all kinds of fancy things, but I had been considering moving it over to a static website for a while as most of the fancy things aren't required, and a static website is much more responsive and secure.
There was some kind of bug in some of the WP pages that meant it would just return an error page if the latest PHP v8.x was used. It was a minor annoyance, but as the web host also ran PHP 7.x on their servers, I could just use 7.3 and everything ran fine.
Then CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 (aka PHPocolyps) hit. So this left me with 3 options;
- Continue running WP under PHP 7.3 and leave myself open to PHP2Shell
- Upgrade to a patched PHP 8.4 and leave some pages unavailable
- Rush through a static site migration
Running PHP 7.3 isn't really an option. But a combination of a slightly broken RC2014 WP site and a work-in-progress static RC2014 site is. Once the static site is sufficiently complete I will migrate it to a standard hosting account and ditch the WP site.
Please note that whilst z80kits also runs on WordPress/WooCommerce this is happily running on PHP 8.4 with the latest patch.
Sorry for the inconveninece. If you notice anything drastically bad, or cannot find a specific piece of info, please contact me. In the meantime, please be patient, and things will get better.
